Replacement Dressing Protection after Inverted Nipple Surgery
Dr. Bermant's plastic and white non-stick padding dressings sometimes stay sealed and in place long enough. If the initial dressings no longer seals the wounds, secondary dressings help protect the healing nipples.
During the initial healing, your nipples need protection. The initial plastic dressing gives better protection. However, on a moving female breast, the plastic may not hold well. If the seal is lost, start using this seconday dressing.

Make a home for the nipples to keep pressing from your bra and clothing off healing tissues. Some patients prefer a hole cut in soft cotton gauze. Others choose to just fold gauze on either side of the nipple. |

Dr. Bermant prefers to maximize comfort after surgery. Although each patient is given a prescription for strong pain medication, most tell us that plain Tylenol alone provides comfort.
