Revision Gynecomastia Male Breast Reduction
This male patient stated he was unhappy with his chest after another doctor's breast reduction surgery done 10 months before. He complained that although the breasts were reduced, there seemed to be too much glandular tissue under the nipple and the areola region protruded. This resulted in an undesirable chest contour he did not like. The scar pulled on motion and he did not like the visible scarring. This reduction had been by liposuction with gland excision through a wide incision around 180 degrees of each areola. The patient denied any breast growth after the first operation.

Early pictures 5 days after surgery show minimal swelling and bruising. Pictures are just after removing the plastic dressing. Small tapes (SteriStrips) help with fine approximation of the skin. 6 weeks after surgery the initial swelling and bruising have resolved.

Notice after the first surgeon's operation, the chest still had a contour that just did not say "male." The areola and nipple projection showed through shirts and continued to embarrass the patient enough to seek Dr. Bermant's revision gynecomastia chest sculpture.
