Adjustment of how much tissue needs to be removed is an art. The
clamp to the left permits adjustment of the tension during this
sculpture of tumescent abdominoplasty surgery.
Here
in this picture Dr. Bermant marks how much extra tissue need to
be removed during this abdominoplasty surgery. The skin below the
old belly button hole has been divided to improve access during
the operation. Planned for removal will be tissue from just above
the belly button down to the pubic region.

In
this photograph, Dr. Bermant uses a scalpel to divide the skin.
What is above the knife will be closed to the skin from the lower
abdominal region. Tissue below the scalpel is the excess to be discarded. |

In
this picture, Dr. Bermant is removing the redundant tissue. The
extra tissue has been removed on the left side of the photograph.
These images help show just how much abdominoplasty surgery is really
sculpture of tissue. |
Bleeding with tumescent abdominoplasty surgery is much less. This results
