Abdominoplasty
27 Year old female after 2 prior pregnancies with cesarean sections and hysterectomy with scars from these surgeries. She has severe stretch marks.
Height 5' 1" Weight 145 pounds
Location Surgery: Hospital Operating Room
Anesthesia: General
Stay: Discharged second day after surgery.
Abdominal Sculpture included:
- Tightening of the rectus muscles of the abdomen from the chest to the pubic region
- Abdominoplasty - high incision due to limitations from multiple prior scars
- Removal of large section of loose skin, and scars from hysterectomy and Cesarean Sections
- Recreation of belly button through transposed skin
This operation shows how a C-section scar can be included in abdominal sculpture. Dr. Bermant no longer uses these higher incision techniques. The stomach muscles (rectus) were tightened with the abdominoplasty. The difference after surgery is obvious. There has only been the tummy tuck surgery - no liposuction - no exercise program.

The scars can take some time to evolve. The second photograph above is shortly after surgery removal. The scar at 5 months is still in the "red" phase and will further evolve. Notice how the umbilicus (belly button) has improved since surgery. The stretch marks that used to be above the belly button are not below it. Those below were removed with surgery.
