Large ear deformity and otoplasty ear reduction plastic surgery photographs in a male patient
This male patient did not like his big ears which were very large. He camouflaged the large ears with his hair to hide their size. The ears did not protrude from the head, but he was concerned with the prominence of the ear lobes.

Making an ear smaller must consider the blood supply to keep tissues alive resulting in compromise. Tissues can only be pushed so far. Selection of what a specific reduction requires is part of Dr. Bermant's skill as a surgical sculptor.
These images are Very Early at only 6 days after surgery and show typical bruising and swelling in such extensive ear sculpture by Dr. Bermant.

Macrotia or big ears can come in many different forms. In this patient, all elements were enlarged - no one part of the ear anatomy dominated.

These ears measured over 77 mm in height. This length was with the earlobes folded forward meaning the true before surgery size was much bigger. Big ear reduction otoplasty and flattening out the earlobe brought them down to 65 mm. 18 mm of ear cartilage height had to go to get this reduction.
