Elevation of helix rim to reduce ear size.
Reduction of the ear can take many forms, it depends on what elements of the ear are enlarged. For this patient, there was just too much auricular height - the ear was very long. The rim of the helix can be raised as a flap providing access to other elements needing reduction. During the surgery, the total length of helical rim cartilage can be shortened.
