Large ear deformity and otoplasty ear reduction plastic surgery photographs in a male patient
Patient concerned that he had massive ears. He recalls much teasing as a child for the very large ears. He had been able to camouflage them with his hair, but eventually that became a problem as he became bald. He was concerned that his ear height was too big and that the ears stuck out too far.

These images are Very Early at only 2 days after surgery and do show the amount of bruising and swelling seen in such extensive ear sculpture.

The original ear height was 7.4 cm on the left and 7.7 cm on the right. This is very big. The normal range for ear height is 5.5-6.5 cm (2.1 - 2.6 inches).

Notice how the new ear size fits the face much better. (Prior rhinoplasty done by another doctor.)

At 2 days after surgery, there still is significant swelling and bruising with this extensive an operation.

The patient's ears were checked and a large ear dressing was replaced to protect the tissues. Length of time that this dressing is needed depends on the extent of surgery.
