Big scapha fossa resulting in large ear deformity and otoplasty ear reduction plastic surgery photographs in a female patient
This female patient did not like her big ears, mainly the size of the scapha. When asked what she did not like, she pinched the top of her ears and said "I want my ears smaller, please reduce the upper part like this." She wanted about a 6 mm reduction in the length of her ears. The patient said she was tired of covering her big ears with her hair.
She had been to other doctors for this problem, but had been told that there was no solution. After spending time exploring Macrotia Big Ear Reduction Surgery here, she requested and started with our preliminary remote discussion.

Sometimes only part of the ear is enlarged. In this patient, the scapha fossa was big, unbalancing the ear. Selecting the right sculpture is part of the artistry of macrotia ear reduction otoplasty.
Please start here to learn about this patient's deformity, and surgical solution. These images are Very Early at only 6 days after surgery and show typical bruising and swelling in such extensive ear sculpture by Dr. Bermant. These close up photographs show how well the scars are hidden at the edge of the helix.

From the side, the better balance of the ear elements after surgery is obvious. The smaller scapha looks more proportioned.
Understanding the true nature of any 3 dimensional ear reduction otoplasty sculpture requires careful looking at the problem and the solution from many angles. Take the time to go through each of the images about this patient.
