Here the Sphinx's nose has been reconstructed with one designed after Ramse's mummy. I can certainly understand why the Pharaoh's nose was not used in the statues. Are the artistic rendering of the various statues an early form of image manipulation that we can now do with rhinoplasty? One of Ramses statues at the immediate right shows a nose that does not look anything like the images of the mummy. In rhinoplasty surgery we try to emphasize the better and demphasize the detracting features. That has not been done in this example.
