Subtle Tip of the Nose and Small Nasal Hump Rhinoplasty Surgery

Nasal surgery does not have to be dramatic. Negative features can be minimized.

19 year old female who said she did not like the "chubbiness" of her nasal tip and the protrusions along the bridge (dorsum) of her nose. The tip did have a slight boxy appearance to it and there were some distortions of the nasal bones that produced bumps along the upper sides.

Technique

  • Open rhinoplasty
  • Lateral protrusion reduction
  • Dorsal hump reduction
  • Dome spanning sutures

This rhinoplasty sculpted down small deformities of the nasal bones (red arrows). The broad tip was narrowed with dome spanning sutures. Nasal tip changes are best best seen on the views from below.

There is a slight distortion of the bridge (dorsum) of the nose that was removed with this rhinoplasty. Carefully follow the dorsal line before and after surgery to see the subtle change from this view. Notice how before surgery, the hump breaks up the gentle curve. Dr. Bermant removed the negative features without making the nose look over operated.
