Large Nose and Big Nasal Tip Reduction Rhinoplasty44 year old male who said he did not like the bump on his nasal dorsum and his large hanging nasal tip. He also felt that his nose was out of proportion with the rest of his face. He did have nasal trauma years ago that added the bump, but the extended nasal tip has been there since he finished growing.
Start exploring this patient's problem on this page. The major changes are best viewed from the side or oblique photographs. From the front, the changes in the tip and dorsal hump can still be seen. The nasal length has not been changed with the rhinoplasty.
From below the columella (wall between the nostrils) had to be shortened to reduce the nasal tip length. The nostrils were not reduced (alar wedge resection) at his request avoiding a scar that would normally be hidden in the fold between the nose and cheek. The minimal scar from the open rhinoplasty on the columella is best seen from this photograph.
