Reduction Rhinoplasty Surgery

37 year old male did not like the excessive projection of his nose from his cheeks. The curved hump along the dorsum had two side bumps. He also did not like the way the nasal tip drooped and seemed too long for his face. There was no difficulty breathing through the nose.

Technique

Open rhinoplasty
Nasal dorsal and lateral hump reduction
External osteotomies (bone sculpture)
Shortening nose
Sculpture of lower nasal cartilage and tip
Rotation of nasal tip

Nasal surgery must result in swelling and bruising. The eyelids are easily bruised and swollen with very little trauma. Dr. Bermant's nasal sculpture is designed to minimize swelling after rhinoplasty and shorten recovery time. It is unusual to find any doctor willing to show such early photographs after rhinoplasty surgery. Individual swelling and bruising will depend on the problem treated, surgical techniques needed, after surgery program, and how your tissues heal. External splint and sutures were removed 8 days after surgery.

The nose will continue to evolve after surgery. Cartilage and nasal tips can take 2 years to achieve the final form.
