This patient wanted surgery only on her right ear. Asymmetry is common and can look unusual. Although otoplasty is more commonly done on both ears, one sided set back operations can be done. This operation was done with anterior scoring and sutures pulling the fold back.

Notice the limited swelling and bruising on the photograph 1 week after surgery. The improvement in position is immediately obvious. 4 weeks after surgery the ear looks normal.

Notice how little bruising and swelling are present only 6 days after surgery. By 18 days, there is little swelling left.
