Asian Rhinoplasty - Keeping the nose ethnic.

This 25 year old female Asian complained that her nose was too wide and flat. She did not like her wide nostrils and the width of the tip.

Asian rhinoplasty reduction nasal floor and nostril reduction.

Before rhinoplasty photograph demonstrate the very wide nostrils that displeased this patient.

Asian nose made more narrow after nostril reduction.

Alar wedge reduction to narrow the asian or oriental nose.

The lower nose is reduced with an excision of skin of the nostril floor. Care in shaping the flaps of skin minimize notching scars.

There are many types of alar reductions, each suited for a specific surgical sculpture problem. The type of ala excision will depend on what needs to be done. In this case there was normal alar flaring (degree tissue protruding from the sides of the nose). An excision that removes some of the vertical component, can make the nasal to cheek tissue flatter. In this case, we only needed to make a broad nose, more narrow.
